About Me
Melissa Masland founded her independent educational consulting practice in 2010, working with students ranging from those admitted to highly selective schools like Carnegie Mellon and UCLA to those seeking comprehensive-support colleges like Lynn University and the University of Denver. She spent two years as a college counselor at Orinda Academy in California, and roughly half her private practice consists of students navigating learning differences, anxiety, or dyslexia.
Melissa holds a BA from UC Santa Barbara and completed UC Berkeley's Certificate in College and Career Counseling. She's a Community Representative for HECA's SF East Bay chapter and a longtime member of IECA and WACAC. As the mother of four, including a daughter with Down syndrome thriving in a peer community in Laguna Beach, she brings a genuinely personal understanding of diverse family needs to her work.
