About Me

Melissa Garcia's own experience as a first-generation college student — and the guidance she received from teachers and counselors along the way — inspired her to pursue a Master's in Educational Counseling from the University of La Verne. She works every day to assist, motivate, empower, and advocate for her students, seeing herself in each one and taking pride in their enrollment at Oxnard College as a step toward bigger opportunities for them, their families, and their community.
