About Me
Alison received her A.B. in Human Biologywith distinctionfrom Stanford University and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa society. While at Stanford she served as one of only a few undergraduate teaching assistants. Subsequently, Alison obtained her J.D. from Harvard Law School and practiced law for several years until the birth of her oldest son. Taking time off to be with her children, Alison switched her focus to education, serving as a volunteer in numerous capacities in the schools. Among other activities, Alison created and implemented the first after-school enrichment program for middle school students in the Las Virgenes School District, for which she received the “Golden W” award, A.E. Wright Middle School’s highest honor.
Deciding that her passion lay in education, Alison returned to school and received her Certificate in College Counseling from U.C.L.A. Extension. She then started Parker College Planning and joined College Connection, an affiliation of college counselors across the country who share knowledge and information to benefit their respective clients. Alison belongs to several professional organizations including the Western Association for College Admissions Counseling and Higher Education Consultants Association. In addition to helping private clients, she volunteers with Camp College, a program for underprivileged students in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Alison also has been featured as a speaker at the Las Virgenes Unified School District's Gifted Education Conference and Calabasas High School.
