Specializing in college fit and essay guidance, Alisha focuses on helping students discover colleges and programs that align with their goals to support them in presenting their best selves through their applications. The application processes for college and graduate school can be stressful and confusing for students and families. Alisha provides comprehensive guidance on all aspects of the admissions process, and also specializes in helping students identify colleges that may support their mental health and neurodiverse needs. She strives to go further than the formulaic consulting process and helps students understand their admissions options in a way that minimizes stressors and simplifies the application process. Alisha believes in the importance of college fit and matching students with universities where they would flourish.
As part of her work, Alisha engages and conducts webinars and panels on various topics related to undergraduate and graduate admissions. She believes in providing students and families with the information needed to make informed decisions about their future. She has conducted a boot camp for high school students applying to college and helped them through the college application and essay writing process in an efficient and time-limited manner. Alisha also understands the admissions process more intricately from her experience reviewing applications as a reader and application assistant for the University of Richmond and as an alum interviewer for Emory University.
Alisha earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, English, and Classical Studies from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Thereafter, she completed her Masters of Science in Counseling from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Alisha is a member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling (SACAC). She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Associate Professional Counselor (APC), and a practicing psychotherapist. She resides in Atlanta with her husband and their rescue dog, Ash.
