bio

My career in education has spanned over ten years and three states and I have worked with thousands of students and families, ranging from those with the fewest of resources to those with high-level connections and unlimited funding, helping them successfully prepare for and navigate the college search and application process.

As a professional with extensive experience in research and a formal education in educating and counseling young people, I have an eye for detail and unique ability to relate to adolescents, helping them uncover and meet their goals, and demonstrate their successes with hard data.

I have been told by my students, supervisors, and colleagues that I have a special gift for creating a safe and comfortable space, while at the same time having the capacity to effectively broach difficult subjects. My passion for working with adolescents stems from the fact I am able to work with them as partners in the helping relationship. It is this mindset—my viewing adolescents as being the experts on their lives—that I believe drives my success in working with them.

I am a graduate of the University of Texas with a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology with a focus on School Counseling. Within my program, I focused on counseling with adolescents in educational and community settings. Prior to beginning my master’s program, I worked as a project manager and assessor in a research lab looking primarily at eating disorder and depression prevention interventions for high school and college students.

About Me

I am an Independent Educational Consultant and former School Counselor and English teacher with extensive experience in academic counseling and social-emotional support. My career in education has spanned over ten years and three states, and I have worked with hundreds of students and families, ranging from those with the fewest of resources to those with high-level connections and unlimited funding. I am well-versed in helping students and families navigate the college application process.

My passion for college admissions stems from my understanding that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders and that a student's full potential can be unlocked when their growth is fostered in the most fitting environment. It is my mission to help young people make the most of their high school experience--while striking the right balance between rigor and fun--and curate the future of their dreams.

I was born and raised in Alaska and have lived in Oregon, Texas, California, and Colorado. I currently live in the Denver-Metro area. When I'm not working, you can find me spending as much time as possible with my family, doing hot yoga, sipping on coffee and tea, skiing, and traveling every chance I get.
