About Me

Tina Bournazos holds a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA Extension, a Master's of Journalism, and a BA in English, the latter two both from UC Berkeley. A former journalist, she brings strong interviewing and listening skills to her practice, along with an editor's eye for what makes an engaging essay topic — sharpened further by her time as past president of a scholarship foundation reading hundreds of applications.

Tina volunteers as a College Coach for ScholarMatch, supporting underrepresented students in San Francisco, and has served as a scholarship reader for the Cal Alumni Association and the San Francisco Education Fund. She's presented workshops at the College of Marin on choosing a major, writing personal statements, and applying for scholarships, and as a mother of two very different children, she's navigated the admissions process firsthand herself.
