About Me

Elizabeth Cashel founded Cashel Educational Consulting, a full-service independent consulting firm helping students and families from the U.S. and around the world navigate independent school and college admissions. With over twenty years of experience across schools in the U.S. and Europe, she understands firsthand the needs of students living both domestically and abroad, and is committed to helping each one discover, apply to, and thrive at the school that's right for them.

Having held roles ranging from elite day and boarding schools stateside to competitive IB programs abroad — including as former head of upper school admissions at a New York City independent school — Elizabeth brings deep insight into the inner workings of competitive school admissions. Her college guidance spans Ivy League universities, international schools, liberal arts colleges, and specialized programs, tailored to each student's individual path, whether toward athletics, the arts, engineering, or beyond. Having lived and worked overseas for many years, she brings genuine expertise to international families navigating how foreign curricula match up with U.S. schools. She's affiliated with IECA (chairing its European Regional Committee and serving on its Global Committee), NACAC, and IACAC, and serves on the Fisher's Island Board of Education.
