About Me

Robin Colt is an Independent Educational Consultant based in Carbondale, Colorado, providing personalized, one-on-one college counseling services for high school students and their families. With a best-fit approach, Robin helps students identify colleges that align with their academic, social, and financial goals. She incorporates strength and career assessments, personality and values inventories, and reflective conversations to create a thoughtful and balanced college list that supports each student’s individuality and potential.

Before founding Robin Colt College Consulting, Robin spent over a decade in education as a high school science teacher and AP Exam Reader for the College Board. Her background in teaching advanced-level courses has shaped her analytical, structured approach to guiding students through complex college admission processes. She also served as the Interim Director of College Counseling at a Colorado boarding school, where she worked with students from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate every step from academic planning to essay development and final college decisions.

Deeply committed to educational access, Robin offers pro bono counseling for low-income and first-generation students and volunteers through college-access programs such as High School High Scholars (HS2). Her community outreach reflects her belief that every student deserves expert support and a clear pathway to higher education success. Combining empathy with expertise, Robin partners with families to turn what can be an overwhelming process into a purposeful and rewarding journey.
