A UCLA-trained teacher, Cindy has coached STEM teams to global championships and juggles marathon running with five sons.

About Me

Cindy McCormick found the career she was born to do: guiding high school students toward college. Before founding CMCA, she earned her B.A., teaching credential, and Master's in Education from UCLA, an Instructional Writing Certificate from UC Santa Barbara, and a College Counseling Certificate from UC San Diego, and taught school in both Westchester County, NY and Southern California before specializing in college application and essay writing instruction.

Cindy spent ten years coaching students on competitive STEM teams that went on to global championships, and now presents to fellow counselors on tailoring approaches to different learning styles and building effective advising curricula. As a mother of five boys, a Gifted and Talented educator, an autism specialist, and a Spanish bilingual instructor, she brings a genuine appreciation for each student's unique background and abilities to her practice. In her downtime, she enjoys family time, running marathons, and her two kittens and Goldendoodle, Ollie.
