About Me
William Cayer, a member of NACAC and IECA, began his career as a high school teacher with Teach for America in the Mississippi Delta, where he developed a passion for higher education access and equity. He went on to serve as an admissions representative at Post University and a college counselor at Achievement First Amistad High School in New Haven, CT.
William founded Higher Access College Counseling to provide admissions support to students nationwide, with an emphasis on developing strong student writing as a vehicle for showcasing their unique stories. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy/Music from the University of Connecticut, and believes a partnership built on trust and open communication is the foundation of a successful counseling relationship.
