With over 20 years of experience as a high school English teacher, I’m passionate about working with teens to craft exceptional writing in their own voices. As a parent of two college students, I offer genuine attention, empathy, and advice to families as they navigate the complex and competitive admissions process. Since founding College Bound Future in 2019, I’ve helped hundreds of students find their best-fit colleges, get accepted, and thrive once they’re there.

About Me

After receiving an M.A. in English Education from Stony Brook University in 1995, I began my career teaching high school English at a leading school district in Plainview, New York. As an advisor for the student newspaper, yearbook, and literary magazine, I nurtured students’ creative expression and instilled my passion for writing. Although I was young (and often asked for a hall pass by colleagues), my students found me relatable, and I cherished my connections with them, many of whom I am still in touch with.

When I left my tenured position to raise a family, I maintained an active role as an educator, leading enrichment programs and writing workshops throughout Long Island and NYC. I’ve worked with teens to execute successful projects in publishing, research, and community leadership, fostering opportunities beyond traditional extracurriculars. My students have received recognition from Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, written and published books, and brought their screenplays to Manhattan stages. I’m very proud of their accomplishments.

Over the last two decades, I’ve helped hundreds of high school students craft exceptional college essays and competitive application profiles. The goal is for students to create an authentic “story” to share with admissions, use their voices to display unique attributes and stand out among thousands of applicants.

Since the official launch of College Bound Future, Inc. in 2019, professional development has been a priority. I spend significant time visiting colleges, meeting with admission reps, and attending conferences and workshops. The Certificate for Educational Planning (CEP) program through UC Irvine and my membership in IECA and NYSACAC are invaluable resources that enable me to provide accurate insight into the latest trends in college admissions.

As a parent of two college students, I understand the specific challenges and guidance needed to navigate the intricacies of college admissions. With genuine empathy and support, I share knowledge for sound decision-making, find colleges that are a perfect fit, and help families discover joy along the way.
