bio

I have over a decade of experience working with teens as both an independent college access counselor and an international high school exchange coordinator. I have done extensive volunteer work with grades 9 through 12 both in and out of the classroom. I am also the mom of two college-aged kids and I know what makes teens tick. I establish an easy rapport, and I find that once trust is established students are willing to collaborate with me to explore a wide variety of postsecondary possibilities!

About Me

I am well versed in all aspects of college admissions and I know what colleges are looking for. I believe students need options based on match, fit, cost, and many other tangible and intangible criteria. I do not subscribe to the "one perfect school" philosophy. My students wind up happy and right where they are meant to be, and to me that's winning! Not to brag, but to date I have not had a single student transfer out of the four-year university they committed to.

I am a confident guide throughout the entire application process: personal and supplemental essays, resumes, college lists, letters of recommendation, Common and Coalition Applications, financial aid, scholarship and honors college applications, Florida Bright Futures, Naviance, SSAR, and more!

When I'm not coaching students, I enjoy spending time with my family and our two rescue dogs, riding my bike all over Sarasota, eating extra hot Thai curries, and drinking too many lattes.

Specilaties
Areas of focus include IB, AICE, AP, JROTC, dual enrolled, college transfer, and virtual school students. I love working with first generation, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, ESOL, and nontraditional students. I specialize in our Florida public university system - which offers something for EVERY student and an affordable price - and coach my students through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship application process!
