bio

Before becoming an educational consultant, Suzanne spent twenty years as a public school educator: teaching high school English students of all grades and ability levels, coordinating a gifted and AP program, and serving as a college counselor. Seeing the increasing stress in her students’ college application process led Suzanne to seek a graduate certificate in College Counseling from UCLA and launch her consulting practice where she works with students from across the United States. With one kid of her own in college and another just beginning his search, Suzanne understands and empathizes with today’s parents; clients regularly report that she has a knack for putting both students and parents at ease as she guides them through the college search and application process.

Suzanne lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she is an LGBTQ+ advocate, a theatre patron, and an Arizona Diamondbacks super-fan (just ending a 22-year run as an inaugural season ticket holder). Fueled by good food, better chocolate, and the best coffee.

About Me

In addition to being an educational consultant, I have been a public school educator and have two young adult kids of my own (one who just graduated from college and the other a rising junior) so I have the opportunity to see the college selection process from multiple perspectives.

In nearly thirty years as an educator, I have worked with students in a variety of roles: teaching high school English at all grades and ability levels, coordinating a gifted and AP program, and serving as their college counselor. I started Meridian Educational Consulting in 2016 and love working with students to plan their futures. Whether learning about my students and their unique needs or engaging with my colleagues — those at local high schools, on the college side, and from various consulting practices around the world — every day brings something different and keeps me energized.

My educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Education from Arizona State University and a graduate certificate in College Counseling from the University of California at Los Angeles. I hold current professional certifications in teaching and school counseling from the Arizona Department of Education.

I live in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, with my husband and our spoiled mini schnauzer, where we are sometimes visited by our two kids. I am a tribal citizen of Citizen Potawatomi Nation, an LGBTQIA2S+ ally and advocate, a concert goer, a theatre patron, and an Arizona Diamondbacks fan (recently ending a 22-year run as an inaugural season ticket holder). Fueled by good food, better chocolate, and the best coffee.
