About Me

Penny Klein has spent her entire professional life as an educator working with high school students. A graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University (BA), Penny first taught English in rural Ohio and then in Zimbabwe, Africa as a Peace Corps Volunteer. She earned her Masters in Counseling from Ohio State University. In 1995, she began as a school counselor at Mt. Mansfield Union High School in Jericho, Vermont. During those years, she gained extensive knowledge about the “ins and outs” of the college admissions process. In 2009, Penny left to pursue her passion of helping kids discover who they are, what they want to become and what college environment could offer them a place to grow and thrive. As one of her students said:

“Penny opened my eyes to my options and got me excited about my future.”

A resident of Middlebury, Vermont, Penny lives with her husband Don and golden retriever Willow. The house is surrounded by flower gardens, a reflection of another of Penny’s lifelong passions.
