About Me

Who We Are

Regardless of how you refer to them – independent educational consultants, college coaches, college consultants, or college advisors – our college counselors have extensive experience. We are former college admissions officers, high school counselors and college financial aid officers. Some of us have also had the opportunity to experience the college planning process as parents. We understand the stress this process can bring to both students and parents. We know when students should dig deeper, when it is time to move forward with confidence, and when to take a moment and celebrate students’ many accomplishments.

Who We Serve

Our students come from across the country, from Massachusetts to California, Alaska to Florida, and overseas, too. They matriculate at colleges all over North America and even Europe. They are unique, yet they all have dreams, goals—and a shared desire to “get it right” when choosing a college.

Over the past 20+ years, the Campus Bound team has successfully supported close to 5000 students like you—students representing a wide variety of interests, challenges, academic strengths, and goals. We Treat You Like Family

One of our core values dates back to when this was a home-based business run by Gregg’s mother. Everyone we help with college planning becomes family to us. Your college admission challenges become our challenges and your successes become our successes. The process of searching for a college, applying to college, being accepted to college, and planning for college financially is appropriately described as a roller coaster ride. Campus Bound is there every step of the way.

We feel honored that many of our previous clients let us know about their first semester of college, or even to share news about their lives after college. And, it’s a testament to our caring team of college coaches that many families hire us repeatedly to support each of their distinct children’s college planning journeys as the next son or daughter needs to start planning for college.

Our History

In 2003, flip phones were in, social media didn’t exist, and Gregg was kicking off a new phase of his career in partnership with his mother, Leslie Cohen. Gregg’s mom had a small, personalized college counseling business, which she operated out of her home in Whitman, Massachusetts. He could see her commitment to her students and her thoughtful, holistic approach regardless of her students’ background, academic level, or goals. Gregg could see the financial challenges of college (and tuition was 150% less back then!) and became immersed in that aspect of the college process.

After expanding the business and hiring additional college counselors whose values aligned with the company mission, Gregg’s mom retired. Since that time, the team has expanded to 45 passionate team members and worked hard to meet the demand for our services, adding multiple locations in Eastern Massachusetts and later, pivoting to primarily remote services to meet the interests and needs of our clientele. Recently, driven by his continued passion for the financial side of the college process, Gregg launched College Affordable, a nonprofit organization with a mission of providing education and support to improve access to financial aid advice.

Throughout Campus Bound’s expansion, its core mission and values from when Gregg’s mother started this effort in 1987 have stayed the same. We are a student-focused, personalized small business that guides families methodically through a complicated, stressful process. Campus Bound remains dedicated to providing informed, quality advice in this ever-changing landscape.
