About Me
Before founding Creating College Options, Shari Powell worked at Princeton University as an outside admissions reader and as an alumni interviewer for Tufts. She holds an MBA in Market Research from Wharton and built a career in marketing and market research with firms including Merrill Lynch and Opinion Research, expertise she now brings to helping students find unique, standout positioning in their applications.
Shari holds a BA cum laude in French and Art History from Tufts, and spent nearly a decade as President and Fundraising Chair of the Princeton Education Foundation, where her strategic communications work on an $81 million school bond referendum won a state award. A longtime youth organization volunteer through Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTOs, and sports teams, she's raised two now college-graduate children and is committed to helping every student find great college options.
